Little Leaf and the Way of the Faey

Mariah is lonely living with her storytelling father in a trailer in the woods. Her father’s fanciful imaginary world is getting in the way of having any real connection. Seeking her own story that had truth and meaning, Mariah makes a wish. Lilith, the leader of the Faey, comes and draws Mariah to a strange, enchanted world deep in the Arctic tundra. Nothing like the faeries of her imagination, the wild, animal-like Faey hide in the tundra from encroaching humanity.

Mariah learns to merge with the natural world with the help of her faery friends: a funny fly, a haughty albatross, a fickle breeze, and her teacher the Greenman, she is morphed into a tiny faery with oak leaf wings and renamed Little Leaf. As her memories of her old life start slipping away, she stubbornly clings to her father’s image. Lilith grants her a trip home only to find that time has moved faster, and her father and their life are gone.

But as a faery of the deciduous trees, she has s unique ability to look into the spirit world. Risking her life, she pulls her father’s spirit back, and he becomes a ghost that can only speak through the metaphor of stories. Leaf must find the real relationship she never had with her Dad in life, with his ghost.

As the faeries are pushed to their limit by humanity and global warming, Leaf finds herself entwined in their fate and must use the magic of forgiveness to release her father and move into an unknown future.

Leaf finds the truth within stories, the reality of a ghost, and the magic of forgiving.

Merlin’s Kin

The fates and the Faey are in turmoil, the magic of the land is receding, and the Greenman is unfaithful. All this leads to the birth of a strange child. His beloved mother named him Merlin but who was his father? That is the quest that plagues Merlin and compels him on a strange journey into the heart of the Faey.

Along the way he touches the people around him with prophecy; a loving woman who would never bear children but who would mother the future king, a general turned to a scribe to write the story of Britton, and a reluctant bride who would give up her love to be queen.

Those touched by Merlin’s prophesies become his foes or his faithful friends. Yet no one can help the young magician as his visions haunt him to the point of madness. His only salvation is to find his way back to his father’s family of the Faey.
